4 Great reasons to buy from us:
Abrus Precatorius also known as Bead Vine, Coral Bean, Lucky Bean Creeper, Coral Bead plant, Crabs Eye, Licorice Vine, Love Bean, Prayer Beads, Prayer Bean, Precatory Pea and Red Bead Vine (English); Amabope (Ndebele); Nsimani (Shangaan) and Umkhokha (Zulu).
The Abrus Precatorius is generally a plant that can be found twined around other trees, it is slender and known as a perennial climber. When Bonsaied it will stand alone unsupported by other trees. The features of the Abrus Precatorius include; slender branches with a cylindrical stem that is wrinkled and has smooth textured brown bark, the leaves are smooth with long internodes. The flowers are small and pale violet in colour with a short stalk and arranged in clusters, the fruit is a pod; flat, ovoid and truncate shaped with a smooth silky texture. When the pod opens it curls back to reveal dangling seeds and 3 – 5 oval seeds (roughly 6mm in length) can be found in each pod. The seeds are typically bright red in colour (smooth and shiny in texture) with a black patch on top.
Please note the Abrus Precatorius seeds are toxic and should not be chewed or digested due to having the presence of a lectin poison known as abrin.

The grow pellets already contain a seedling germination fertiliser so it is not necessary to add more.
Take the small grow pellets and gently add water. Once they are fully expanded you will see the size to fit grow pellet inside the coco peat grow pots. Slightly fill the base with the bonsai soil. Place the expanded grow pellet onto of the soil and fill around the edges to keep the pellet sturdy but do not apply to much pressure. You can refill around the edges if needed once watered but try and avoid covering the grow pellet where your seed wants to sprout. Place the seed inside the expanded grow pellet not more than 2 thirds of the seeds depth under the coco peat. Water generously with a fine mist spray and keep moist during germination. Avoid heavy watering as this will potentially wash away the cover sprouting medium or disturb your seeds.
What you get :
3 x coco peat pots
3 x coco peat grow pellets
3 x Abrus seeds
1 x pack of bonsai soil
