Built to Last
The biggest environmental cost of any product is usually the one you replace most often. A well-maintained concrete basin lasts decades — it doesn't chip and get swapped out the way ceramic sometimes does, which means less material in landfill over the basin's lifetime.
Small-Batch, Not Mass-Produced
We cast each basin to order in Cape Town rather than running a mass-production line — there's no large stockpile of unsold units, and no long-haul shipping from an overseas factory. It's a slower way to work, but it means less waste built into the process from the start.
A Material That Ages Well
Concrete doesn't need replacing when it shows wear — a reseal (see our care guide) keeps it performing like new, and minor marks are part of the material's character rather than a reason to replace it.
