Organically grown Medicinal Cannabis or Marijuana can be grown in a growing medium in a Greenhouse under controlled conditions or in soil in an open land.  The growing space, location, climate, and market specifications or requirements will determine the method of growing. If the intention is to produce for the Certified Organic market, the crop will have to be planted into soil to qualify as container growing does not comply to EU Organic standards, but with the approved Inputs for Certified Organic, it may well comply with USA Organic Standards. Beware of frosty, cold climates in winter where growing period and light hours will determine that the crop is ready to harvest before the severe frosty conditions prevail.

It is very important to consider the patients very low immunity, and compromised health, therefore the inputs must be as pure and devoid of contaminants such as toxins and heavy metals and correct properties for medication are important so do not use Chicken or feedlot cattle manure as an input, unless from a reliable source  and not contaminated by hormones, anti-biotics, heavy metals, or fed on a diet of GMO maize or soya, which could be contaminated by herbicides’ and pesticides sprayed on these crops which could harm patients health.

FERTILISER FOR SEEDLING GROWING MEDIUM:

Summer

Mix 4 kg of Vita Grow 2:3:2(16) per cubic meter (m3) into growing medium.

Winter

Mix 4 kg of Vita Veg 6:3:4(16) per cubic meter (m3) into growing medium.

To protect seedlings from damping off disease in seedling nurseries, Fertilis Earthworm Castings can be mixed into growing medium at a rate of 5 litres per cubic meter (m3) or approximately 2 cups (500 ml) per wheelbarrow of growing medium. Vermiculite can be added at 10 to 20% for water and nutrient retention and aeration.

FERTILIZER FOR PLANTING OUT IN GROWING BAGS OR SOIL

Before planting mix these organic inputs into soil or medium for growing bags as follows:

FERTILIS VERMICAST (Approved Input for Certified Organic). At 10 to 20% of planting mix, or 250ml per m2 growing in soil to condition.

VERMICULITE OR URBANSCAPES GREEN CUBES (ROCKWOOL) We supply vermiculite in medium size grade for soil aeration and water retention in 8kg bag.  Mix 10 to 20% ratio into growing medium, or 1L per m2 in soil.

Or

URBANSCAPES Green Cubes or Green Flocks can be added at 20 to 50% of volume of growing medium to retain water and nutrients

VITA ORGANIC FERTILIZER

WITH PLANTING (VEGETATIVE GROWTH)

• Mix VITA Veg 6:3:4(16) into your growing medium at a rate of 1ml per L size of growing bag i.e. 4ml per 4L bag/ OR 6kg per 1m3 of growing medium at planting time. 
• For planting direct into soil apply 100g per m2 of VITA Veg 6:3:4(16) and till into prepared soil.
• Add Dolomitic Lime (Aglime at about 10ml per 1L for growing medium and 200g per m2 in soil) to add Calcium and Magnesium for good plant health.

Together with the nutrient supplied from the Fertilis this should be an adequate nutrient supply for the vegetative growth.

BUDDING OR FLOWER FORMATION: TOP DRESSING

Apply VITA Fruit & Flower 3:1:5(18) at 1ml per L size of bag i.e. 4ml per 4L bag after 6 weeks. 

When planted in growing beds or lands, broadcast VITA Fruit & Flower over planted area at 100g per m2. If necessary, a further application of VITA Fruit & Flower 3:1:5 can be applied as a topdressing.
